• Avoid brushing your hair too much or brushing when it is wet. Use a wide-toothed comb.
• Do not use shampoos which are loaded with harsh chemicals. After washing apply conditioner.
• Do not blow-dry hair too much and avoid gels, sprays, and hair dyes.
• Cover your hair with a scarf or cap when going out in harsh weather. Chlorinated or salt water can make hair dry, so wear a cap while swimming.

• Deep conditioning dry hair once a week will make it regain its moisture level. If the hair is too dry, use an overnight conditioner.
Home Remedies:
Apply a little oil to your hair an hour or so before a shampoo. Coconut, almond, jojoba, or olive oil serves the purpose very well, as well as rosemary, nettle oil, and wheat germ oil. Whisk well, and apply on scalp. Leave for half an hour, before rinsing off. Squeeze the juice of half a lime in the last rinse.
Beer helps combat dry hair and gives it added sheen. Use half a cup of beer in the last rinse.
